Big Coffee Break 2015

Alison Clarke and Bailies Coffee Roasters launch local charity’s campaign

Bailies Coffee have joined Northern Ireland Hospice as they embark on a new era for the annual coffee event, now in its 23rd year. Taking on a new name (Big Coffee Break) and with a fresh new look, NI Hospice is aiming to get more kettles boiling than ever before.

With last year’s event raising almost £75,000, this year NI Hospice hopes to create an even bigger stir and raise more funds. Money raised from this year’s appeal will go towards the £1.6m funding gap needed to complete the new state-of-the-art NI Adult Hospice in Belfast. Big Coffee Break funds will also support the work of NI Hospice nurses as they care for local people diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting conditions in the community.

Northern Ireland’s largest charity is appealing to schools, businesses, community organisations and individuals across the country to register for their free bag of Bailies coffee, get brewing and collect just £2 for each cup of coffee served.

NI Hospice ambassador, Alison Clarke said: “I am really proud and honoured to join NI Hospice to launch the Big Coffee Break campaign. I hope that people will be encouraged to host their own coffee break with family, friends and colleagues. I know my team at ACA is really looking forward to planning our own VIP Big Coffee Break event. It’s fantastic that the money raised will go directly towards the delivery of care services to local people living with life-limiting illnesses and also help with the funds to build the new hospice.”Joanna Pawson, Events Manager for NI Hospice added:

“We are delighted that both Alison and Bailies speciality coffee roasters have come on board to support this year’s Big Coffee Break. Everyone who signs up to hold a coffee break event will receive complimentary Bailies coffee to help them make the most of the occasion.

“This year, we really hope we can encourage as many people as possible to hold a Big Coffee Break for NI Hospice. Every pound raised really does make a difference. This year the appeal is extra special because we hope with the public’s support to reduce the £1.6m funding gap needed to complete the new Adult Hospice in Belfast.”

Your support will help local people requiring hospice care

Funds raised from this year’s appeal will help in two significant and meaningful ways.

You will be helping us to complete the rebuild of our new state of the art hospice in Belfast which we hope to see finished by the end of this year.

Your coffee break money will also help support the work of our local Hospice Community Nurses as they care for local people diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting conditions in your community.
