Big Coffee Break events kick off in style

As we have previously mentioned, This year's Big Coffee Break is the first that NI Hospice has organised in association with local coffee company, Bailies Coffee, who have supplied more than 1,500 bags of coffee to more than 350 coffee hosts. We estimate this to mean around 45,000 cups of Bailies Coffee will be served around the country for these events! It all kicked off yesterday with Bailies staff attending some of the events to help out and join in the great atmosphere. These events are helping to raise funds for equipment in the new dementia-friendly Hospice set to open in Spring 2016. We toured around to take some pictures of everyone's superb efforts, travelling first to ACA Models run...

Bangor Aurora Boost with Bailies Coffee

Drinking a cup of Bailies coffee at Bangor Aurora may pack more than just an energy boost. More and more research is emerging to suggest that there may be several health benefits associated with drinking the dark black beverage, from helping prevent diabetes to lowering the risk of liver disease. Bangor Aurora’s new coffee partner, Bailies are working in synergy with the leisure complex provider to guarantee customers the best cup of coffee as well as promoting healthy choices pre and post workout. Crafters of (Bailies) Coffee

The crafters of coffee blog set up by local coffee aficionado Connor went online recently and its aim is a rather noble one - to shed light on the faces behind some of Ireland's finest coffee roasters. He states his "photographic project is to document the actual people involved in the creating of a good cup of coffee here in Northern Ireland.  As coffee is a craft, I plan to use my own craft to do this. I plan to shoot portraits of roasters, business people, baristas, and others involved in the process. I hope to shoot these on a Mamiya 645 camera, with Kodak Tri-X 400 Film." Bailies staff were chosen as some of the subjects of the project,...

Women's 100 - fueled on by Bailies Coffee

Every year Rapha (a cycling sportswear/lifestyle brand) host a special ride called the Women’s 100 where thousands of women across the globe cycle 100km. Yesterday saw 9,000 women take part in the cycle. Local Belfast bike shop, Fellow Bicycle Co., organised one of the rides and had 16 women leaving Belfast, cycling all the way around Strangford Lough and back. Bailies supplied them with some coffee for their lunch break in Portaferry. Stephen Houston and Jonathan Parks from the Bailies team met them all back at the finish at Fellow for a celebratory bbq and quite a few of them said to pass on their thanks for the warm brew on such a sopping day! We were really happy to...

Big Coffee Break 2015

Bailies Coffee have joined Northern Ireland Hospice as they embark on a new era for the annual coffee event, now in its 23rd year. Taking on a new name (Big Coffee Break) and with a fresh new look, NI Hospice is aiming to get more kettles boiling than ever before. With last year’s event raising almost £75,000, this year NI Hospice hopes to create an even bigger stir and raise more funds. Money raised from this year’s appeal will go towards the £1.6m funding gap needed to complete the new state-of-the-art NI Adult Hospice in Belfast. Big Coffee Break funds will also support the work of NI Hospice nurses as they care for local people diagnosed with cancer and other...
