In 1830 British Prime Minister Earl Grey received a diplomatic gift from China: a chest full of deliciously fragrant exotic tea. Intrigued, he immediately asked his tea-makers to recreate the distinctive taste he had come to love. Their version of the blend became known as Earl Grey tea.
The bergamot plant grows all over the Mediterranean — the peel is cold pressed to extract the aromatic essential oil which defines the Earl Grey fragrance and taste.
Tasting: Fragrant, with the refreshing citrus taste of the finest bergamot
Brew instructions: Use freshly boiled water, infuse for 2-4mins. Delicious with or without milk
