Introduction To Coffee
Aimed at those who are new to the coffee industry or just have a genuine interest in learning more about the product they drink daily
This is a fun, relaxed and informative class for those who have an interest in becoming a barista, or for those who just wish to know more about the product they drink daily! This course focuses on the history of coffee, how coffee is grown, farmed and the techniques used through drying, roasting, brewing to finally drinking.
This module also includes a “coffee cupping” tasting session which allows you to taste the various flavours coffee has to offer.
The class runs from 11am to 3pm in our custom built centre of excellence in Belfast and each participant gets lunch on the day as well as a goodie bag to take home with them. No previous barista experience is required for this course.
The content covered will include:
- Introduction to coffee beans - where it comes from, how it's processed and the different varieties used;
- Coffee Cupping - taste the various flavours coffee has to offer and understand what affects these flavour differences;
- Coffee Origins - find out where coffee is grown and how it affects taste;
- Coffee History - Where did it all begin?
