Competing on the World Stage- Alice Parsons NI AeroPress Champion 2021

In September 2021, in-person coffee events were finally welcomed back into our calendars and with that came the joy of welcoming back to Belfast the NI AeroPress Championships hosted in Black Box. Alice Parsons, Bailies Engineer won the NI AeroPress Championships 2021 and went on to compete via a surrogate brewer at the World Championships hosted in Melbourne Australia. Alice sat down with us, and brewed up some coffees whilst chatting through what it was like to go from first time competitor to finalist in a World competition.

NI Aeropress Competition goes down a storm

The Bailies Coffee team had a truly fantastic time last night at the very first, and definitely not the last Northern Ireland Aeropress Championships. The event was held in Established Coffee in Belfast, and massive congratulations to them on the great hosting, and fabulous service I'm sure everyone received. As we may have mentioned, Bailies provided the freshly roasted coffee for the event, Tolima Gaitana from Colombia - and it was just as popular as we thought it might be. The competitors were pleased, and the those lucky enough to grab a free sample on the night will be too when they brew it up. NI Aeropress Championship 2015 - The Coffee

Bailies Coffee is delighted to be the official coffee sponsor for the inaugural NI Aeropress Championship taking place in Established on Thursday 19th March 2015 and we’ve chosen this very special coffee for the competition: Colombia Tolima Gaitana This is a washed speciality Arabica coffee from Gaitana cooperative in the Tolima region of Colombia. This coop is located around 1850 masl and cooperates with 50 small farmers in the neighbourhood. All coffee was hand-picked, pulped (also mostly by hand), dry fermented for 28 hours, washed and sun dried on patios protected by parabolic tents over 10 days. Coffee buffs flock to the Irish Aeropress Championships

Hipster heaven was to be found in Dublin 8 recently as coffee buffs from all over Ireland flocked to The Fumbally to partake in the Irish Aeropress Championships. Expert baristas mingled with aspiring amateurs at the event where 24 competitors battled it out for a chance to partake in the World Barista Championships to be held in Rimini, Italy later this year.
