Beyond Bailies: Finegan & Son

It's a miserable early August afternoon. The summer has begun to quickly fade away and the rain is pouring from the heavens. Luckily for us, we're sheltered from the grey clouds outside- staring out at passers-by rushing through the rain from the shelter and comfort of Finegan & Son- an unassuming yet, prime speciality coffee spot far from the bright lights and hype of Belfast.   From the outside, Finegan & Son looks like it could have been the inspiration for the shop fronts of Diagon Alley (that's one for you Harry Potter fans). Inside, the cafe is minimal, yet quaint- presented in an airy space, with wooden flooring, tables and chairs accompanied by giant windows that allow light to envelop...

CoffeeNI rate our latest single origin coffee from El Salvador

So the guys over at the wonderful blog of coffee lovers Coffee NI have been receiving our single estate coffee subscriptions along with our other subscribers, and have been waxing lyrical about our roasts in recent months. This time round it was the full bodied sweet Finca Galicia from El Salvador impressing their taste buds. It was their final review of the year, and to say they were happy would be an understatement. Behind the Scenes - First Trust Promo Shoot

Smile for the camera!! Today saw a few guests pop over to our roastery at Bailies Coffee. The reason.... a photo shoot for a massive promotional campaign from First Trust bank, our new partner in the banking world. The shots involve our commander-in-chief himself Russell, involved in some artisan roastery business. We thought we would take the opportunity to photograph the photography - inception style - and give you a quick behind the scenes preview. You can see all the shots below. We will of course post the final promo images once they are done, in the meantime - keep an eye out for more behind the scenes images from our move to new premises.

We are moving!!

  It's been a long time in the pipe works but finally the move has begun for us here at Bailies Coffee. Our new premises is located on Stockmans Way, not far from the M1 motorway, busy Lisburn road and Kings Hall in Belfast. As some of you may know we outgrew our last premises some time ago, but only now have we found the perfect spot for our new and and improved coffee roastery. We have some amazing ideas, some off the wall plans, and some schemes people suggested we downright ignored, but suffice it to say when we finish with this place its going to be rather spectacular. Coffee buffs flock to the Irish Aeropress Championships

Hipster heaven was to be found in Dublin 8 recently as coffee buffs from all over Ireland flocked to The Fumbally to partake in the Irish Aeropress Championships. Expert baristas mingled with aspiring amateurs at the event where 24 competitors battled it out for a chance to partake in the World Barista Championships to be held in Rimini, Italy later this year.
