Comepcafe is a small cooperative located in Andean mountains in Cauca region. The cooperative is democratically lead by the farmers themselves and all of them pride themselves in producing really high-quality coffee. Most of the farmers and indigenous Colombian tribes that have their own dialects and traditions. They live on the farms that are often located high in the mountains.  

Six years ago, Bailies and Comepcafe began work on a new programme, designed to find and highlight some of the highest quality coffees being produced within the cooperative. Bailies worked closely with Comepcafe's quality control team to help in providing feedback to Comepcafe producers, who worked to identify distinct and exceptional lots. La Esperanza, produced by the collaborative efforts of 12 farmers within the small municipality of the same name, is juicy, bright and complex - a perfect example of the outstanding work being done by Comepcafe's producers through the programme. 

La Esperanza- a small municipality within the Cauca region of Colombia - benefits from it's own unique microclimate. This microclimate allows for successful coffee production with farmers in this particular area producing coffees with delicate and elegant flavour profiles with citrusy notes and high sweetness. 

Whilst farmers in this area had much success with their production in this area, their yields (individually) were quite small - so this lot is comprised of 12 local producers harvests in La Esperanza to showcase it's exceptional quality.
