The Kangunu Farmer's Co-operative Society, established in 1998, thrives in the red volcanic soils of Mathioya, Murang'a County.
Situated at 1,600m with ideal climate conditions - cool temperatures of 16 - 26°C and annual rainfall of 950mm - their coffee undergoes traditional wet processing, incorporating sustainable practices like water recirculation. Meticulous drying on raised African beds, for up to 22 days, enhances the complex flavour. The dedication to their coffee reflects the co-operatives commitment to quality, it's members and the environment though many sustainability and welfare-focused practices.
