This decaf comes from a group of farmers in Planadas, Tolima. It’s a small south Colombian region locked by the West and Central Andes and is almost inaccessible due to mountain ranges and unsafe areas in south Huila. This area is partially controlled by paramilitaries. It’s grown in a loam and clay soil rich in volcanic ashes. After the harvesting and drying, the coffee is shipped to Manizales to be decaffeinated using the sugarcane process.
